EU imposes 40% anti-dumping levy on China imports
Today an official ruling was returned from the European Union on a 40% anti-subsidy duty to be imposed on imports of all Coated Fine Paper originating from China. The move marks the first instance where the EU has put in place tariffs of this type against Chinese manufactured product.
The scope of the levy includes all Coated Inkjet Paper, which is used in many private label and OEM branded photo paper packs both in the UK and across Europe. Responsibility has therefore been handed down to manufacturers, brand owners, importers, and distributors to have full traceability in respect of the origin of both finished photo paper and the original base paper raw material.
In response to the ruling Brightstream customers have been reassured of significant stock holding in the short term to maintain pre-duty pricing on China product. Moving forward we are committed to a full review of supply options both in Europe, China, and Globally to maintain the most competitive pricing without compromising quality.
